Accessibility Reader is a setting on the iPad that allows students to read or listen to text in a full-screen view. Students can customize the font, layout and background colours.
Accessibility Reader can be used on iPads with iPadOS 26 or later. To determine the iPadOS version, see Operating System.

build independence
strengthen comprehension and fluency
boost confidence with reading
improve editing and revision processes
increase focus and attention
learn new words and pronunciations

With Accessibility Reader, students in the TDSB can:
listen to stories. Use Accessibility Reader to hear a story read aloud while following along with the words.
complete learning tasks. Listen to digital work tasks or lessons to understand the instructions, learning materials and questions.
research learning topics. While researching information for a Science, History or Health project, students can listen and learn the content at the same time.
increase independent reading skills. Read digital books and online learning materials using Accessibility Reader to read the content out loud.
remove distracting items. Use Accessibility Reader to hide ads and extra pictures so students can focus only on the text they need to read.
