Alternate access to technology means using different tools or methods to interact with computer devices. People who may have difficulty using standard devices may use alternate access tools or methods instead to make it easier. These can include things like:
Touch screens with special settings
An alternate mouse and/or keyboard
Using voice commands
Eye tracking devices
Using special buttons (called switches) with extra settings
Alternate access devices are designed to make technology accessible to everyone of all abilities.
