Accessible Literacy Learning (ALL) is a reading program that helps nonverbal students who require augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
ALL uses proven ways to teach reading to students who need special tools, like devices or other methods, to communicate (e.g., touching a screen, looking with their eyes, or using scanning tools).
In this program, students practice hearing and understanding sounds in words and learn how to read them. They use the method that works best for them to show what they know. Students can go at their own speed as they learn the six foundational skills of reading: sound-blending, phoneme segmentation, letter-sound correspondence, single word decoding, sight word recognition, and shared reading.
Accessible Literacy Learning (ALL) has features that can support students to:
show answers by giving a choice of touching the screen, looking with their eyes, or using scanning tools
practice hearing sounds in words and learn how to read them
understand words and ideas by using pictures and symbols
practice reading skills with step-by-step guidance
