RESULTS

This section will continue to be updated. Below, you will find some of Gledhill's most recent results.

Our rugby season was great.

With 2 teams competing on the day, and 21 rugby players, Gledhill roared all the way to the finals. One of our teams went undefeated and played so well against Kew Beach in the last game of the day. It was tied until the very end, when Kew scored and the whistle blew. Tough loss, but heads can be held high. Kew went on the win the Cities in rugby for Grade 5.

All rugby players were asked to sign our jersey before we raise it to the roof in our gym.

We took just under 40 athletes to Birchmount this year for track. Everyone earned their stripes and represented Gledhill fantastically.

Here are the results from those who came top 4 and moved on to South Finals:

Teagan - 200m (3rd) and 400m (4th)

Eslie - SLJ (4th)

Fiona - 400m (3rd)

Norah - 1500m (3rd)

Sophie - RLJ (2nd)

Tyshawn - RLJ (tied 3rd)

Kaleb - RLJ (tied 3rd)

At the South finals, we had some near misses, with Teagan and Norah coming 5th. Elsie made it through her event and qualified for Cities. She did amazing and ended up placing 11th in all of Toronto at standing long jump. Way to go Elsie!

Congrats Elsie. 11th in the City for standing long jump!

We had an amazing day at our slo pitch tournament, hosting 4 other schools. Great support from our school and parents on the day, which saw us just miss out by 1run to move on to the Conference Championship game for division 1.

I know many of our team will continue on with baseball at East York and other places this summer, and I wish them well on their seasons.

BOYS BASKETBALL 2023

GREAT SEASON THIS YEAR FOR OUR TEAM, WHO MADE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE SOUTH CONFERENCE SEMI FINALS IN DIVISION 1. WE MET A VERY STRONG TEAM FROM CARLTON VILLAGE, AND DID NOT MAKE IT TO THE FINALS. CARLTON VILLAGE ENDED UP WINNING THEIR FINAL MATCH TO WIN THE SOUTH AND MOVE ON TO THE CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Grade 5 Girls Basketball - 2022/2023 -

What a great group of athletes.

Our team went 3-1 in our tournament, losing out to a very strong Diefenbaker team. Victories against Secord, Thorncliffe and Chester.

We then moved on to the Conference semi finals and barely broke a sweat. It was like the other team didn't even show. Off to the finals we go!

We once again met Diefenbaker to see who would represent the South at the City Championships. Unfortunately, our team just couldn't get past what proved to be a dominant team from up the street. Our effort was there though, and we showed no quit.

Very proud of these girls. Thanks to all parents who have given us amazing support so far this year. It means alot.

****Diefenbaker went on to win the Grade 5 championship for girls basketball this year.

Congratulations to our Grade 5 Girls Borden Ball team for their amazing season. Conference Finalists!

Boys Slo Pitch - Won their tournament and moved on to the semi finals of the South.  Ended up losing 6-4 in the semis to Cedarvale, who then lost to Maurice Cody in the finals of the South.

Girls Slo Pitch - did not move on past the tournament.

Co-ed Volleyball - came first in our tournament, and fell to Eglinton in the semi finals.

Co-ed Ball Hockey - undefeated season, taking the Div 2 South Conference title 5-0 against Huron.  As we were in the bottom half in population of the schools who entered into ball hockey this year, we competed in the DIV 2 competition. This meant we did not go to the Cities.

Boys Basketball - went 3-1 this year and lost out in the quarter finals to Cedarvale.

Girls Volleyball - did not move on past tournament.

Boys Volleyball - came second in their tournament and moved on to the Conference semi finals. They went down once again to Eglinton!

Girls Basketball - did not move on past tournament.

Girls Soccer - did not move on past tournament.

Boys Soccer - lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Eglinton in the semi-finals of the South. Were up 3-1 in second half and I feel really should have won the South.

Borden Ball - did not move on past tournament.
