TRACK AND FIELD

Thursday, May 23rd

Thank you to all of our athletes and family members for a great day yesterday at Birchmount. I was extremely impressed with how our team handled the heat and how they took care of each other throughout the day. We really are lucky at Gledhill to have such an amazing community. 

Our parents are the best! A huge shout out to everyone who was able to come support the team yesterday, for coming on the TTC with us, for bringing a cold treat, for helping make sure athletes got to their events, and for those who helped train our athletes in the weeks leading up. 

The following students will be moving on to the South Conference Finals on June 5th. I will reach out to families individually with more information.

Finally, I would like to thank one of our Grade 4 girls for taking on an event last minute when we found out that she was needed due to the absence of another. Subhanna performed admirably in the relay race, without once practicing with the team. When she was approached yesterday she never hesitated, and without her, our Grade 4 team would not have had the chance to compete. Thank you Subhanna. You showed courage and I was proud of you.

Wednesday, May 8th

Please see the following information regarding our Track Team for 2024. We had our meeting today and handed out packages with permission to be returned.

Tuesday, May 7th

Our team has been finalized and students have been spoken to. A package is being put together for families with information and paper permission forms to be sent back to Mr. Webb. Some of our staff will be meeting today to discuss a practice schedule, which I will include in my calendar here and post as well.
