( STRAWBERRY MOON)
Congratulations to all the 2024 graduates and those who helped them get across the stage and on to their next step in life.
Through hard work and dedication, our graduates have overcome the academic milestones for themselves, their families, and community. We are all very proud of you and wish you the very best!
With one year in the books as your Indigenous Education Coordinator, I want to thank each of you for your support of our program and our youth. There has been a great amount of support from families, community members, teachers, staff, and administration in contributing to our next generation. Through community care our children thrive!
This year we had the opportunity to connect and there may or may not be a correlation but attendance of our students increased! When students are in school they are learning and working towards building a greater future. We are excited to see the growth that will come and encourage our students to continue to challenge themselves academically through the summer. To that end, we are hosting our Summer Book Review program, Gda-Gindaasomin. You can find additional details below in the "opportunity" section of the newsletter or at this link.
June's newsletter is the last Indigenous Education Program newsletter of the 2023/24 school year. Our office will be closed for the summer. We wish you a memorable and safe summer break!
Respectfully,
Summer Baldwin
TCAPS Indigenous Education Coordinator
