What is Anishinaabe Expressive Culture Series?
Throughout the 23/24 school year, the Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) Title VI Indigenous Education Program hosts a monthly educational series called “Anishinaabe Expressive Culture Series”. The series focuses on highlighting a variety of cultural educational topics and includes language, art, music, dance, and regalia.
All events are free and open to the community.
The Anishinaabe Expressive Culture Series at Traverse City Area Public Schools Indigenous Education is funded by the Native American Heritage Fund.
What is Indigenous Education?
The mission of the Traverse City Public Schools Indigenous Education Program is to support the unique cultural and academic needs of Native American students from pre-K through graduation.
What we do:
Provide academic support for students.
Be a student advocate.
Help students locate tribal and local resources.
Bring cultural awareness to our TCAPS schools.
