Tauhei Combined School learners have access to services and interventions coordinated through our Special Education Needs Coordinator. Through these referrals to external services such as those needed to explore medical assessments (ADHD, Autism or other developmental differences), academic or behaviour experts (resource teachers, Ministry of Education, etc) and social services (whaanau support).
As a school, we also have in-school programmes such as utilising the Learning Support Co-ordinator and Specialist Teacher hours to support acceleration and extension programmes. Also available is a private Speech-Language Therapist working with small groups weekly.
If you have questions about support for your child, get in contact with their teacher or SENCo to arrange a meeting.
