We maintain the confidentiality and integrity of academic documents by providing official copies of transcripts, predicted grades, teacher and counselor recommendation letters, and institution-specific rating scales directly to colleges and universities—not to students or parents.
This practice ensures that all documents remain secure, unaltered, and tamper-free, giving receiving institutions full confidence in their authenticity. Additionally, it allows teachers to write honest and thorough recommendations, knowing that their assessments are shared only with the intended recipients.
Before submission, each college counselor carefully reviews teacher recommendation letters and CommonApp forms to ensure they accurately reflect the student’s strengths and achievements.
Grade 12 students complete a university notification form in September and then meet with their assigned college counselor to discuss the final list. The deadline to complete these notification forms is listed in the Grade 12 timeline section. After submitting the university notification form, the student meets with their college counselor to discuss relevant forms, such as the following:
The high school transcript is a common component of some university applications. Some universities require the transcript to be either self-reported or submitted directly to the university during the application process. Others, such as several U.K. universities, will rely on predicted grades for AP or IB courses. The transcript is updated at the end of each semester.
The high school transcript includes:
The student's basic demographic information (name, address, date of birth, etc.)
Dates of attendance at TASIS England, as well as graduation date
TASIS England courses taken in grades 9-12, including semester and final grades
Credits earned for TASIS England courses
Honors* and Major End of Year Awards
Grade Point Average (GPA)*
*TASIS Academic Honors and GPA are explained in the Upper School "US" Handbook Grading Section. The current US handbook can be downloaded from the Upper School page.
Students who attended another high school will need official and translated copies submitted to the Registrar through this form. If there are further questions about submitting your transcript to TASIS then please email the Registrar.
Shortly after the end of each semester, students are emailed an unofficial transcript copy from the Registrar, but they can request a copy at any time through this link. Official transcripts are only sent to universities, scholarship programs or transfer schools.
Grade 12 students request transcripts with their college counselor according to the TASIS Final List Agreements policy.
Shortly after the end of each semester, a student's GPA is updated in Maia Learning. This video explains how to find the GPA in Maia Learning.

A typical component of university applications, especially American institutions, includes a school report and a counselor recommendation letter. These reports are completed by the student's college counselor and are typically submitted through MaiaLearning. These documents are confidential and are not shared with the student.
As with school report and counselor letter, the teacher recommendation letters are confidential. The letters and any accompanying forms are submitted directly to the requesting institutions and scholarship corporations.
The Registrar and AP and IB Coordinators collect predicted grades for every grade 12 student in an AP or IB class in the fall of grade 12.
Grade 12 families can view predicted grades in Maia Learning based on the dates shared in the graduating class' College Counseling calendar which is shared with families in January of grade 11 and posted on the Grade 12 timeline page.
To understand the difference between a predicted grade and other TASIS grades, please refer to Understanding the Difference Between Grades Reported in the Upper School document.
Some university application systems, such as the UCAS for the UK, require predicted grades to be submitted. Other application systems, such as most American universities, do not require predicted grades. Students work individually with their college counselor to determine what needs to be sent to each university.
The school profile is updated each fall and is the document that explains TASIS England to universities. The school profile is sent to most universities along with a student's transcript.
