The Academic Deans work with rising grade 9 and Upper School families each year to determine the most appropriate combination of high school courses that will meet the TASIS graduation requirements as well as students' post-secondary aspirations.
To assist in determining appropriate courses to consider in relation to university and college requirements, the High School Subject Choice Considerations document to raise awareness of how high school subject choices can impact post-secondary options. There is specific information for students considering taking both AP and IB courses in grades 11-12, as this can impact university admissions in some countries.
Each year the Academic Deans send further information regarding the process for selecting courses for the following school year in the following timeline:
January: Evening for Grade 10 families to learn more about options.
Early February: Grade 10 families are invited to schedule a meeting to select courses for the following school year.
Late February: Grade 9 families are invited to schedule a meeting to select courses for the following school year.
Early March: Grade 11 families are invited to schedule a meeting to select courses for the following school year.
We meet with each grade level multiple times throughout the year in the newly named Future Pathways course. You can see a general overview of goals and content for each grade level here.
Each Upper School grade has a Google classroom page that starts at the beginning of grade 9 and follows them throughout their four years at TASIS and includes:

Students who join in grades 10-12 will have access to presentations and resources shared with their grade level at any time during the Upper School years.
All TASIS students and their families have access to MaiaLearning. MaiaLearning is a valuable research tool that assists in exploring interests, setting goals, investigating careers as well as researching and helping to guide your application process. Some highlighted features include:
Sophisticated ways to sort potential universities by major, location and selectivity.
Helping predict chances of admission through a tool called "scattergrams." Scattergrams graphically depict the GPAs, SAT/ACT scores, and admission experience of TASIS students at hundreds of different universities over the past several years. While scattergrams are a limited tool—they only plot two pieces of a student’s application—they can be used as one data point to understand the likelihood of gaining admission to a particular university.

If a parent does not feel that a Maia Learning account has been created then please use this form.
These videos help to highlight key aspects of the platform are below. Some of the Maia Learning menu titles have been altered since the videos were created but the information is in the same section as what is included in the videos.

TASIS England students will take the career and interest inventory test provided by the Morrisby organization in early February of Grade 10. TASIS pays for student's subscription to this platform, which can be used for their lifetime. Any new student who starts grade 10 after the Morrisby survey has been completed is offered a subscription, as well as any new grade 11 or 12 student.
The Morrisby Profile tests are based on extensive research and have been developed over 30 years. Students take a cognitive assessment that is fun and then have an individual interview to review the results and the report in detail. Afterwards, students are given access to a number of tools to help them research course options at TASIS England, career suggestions, and even university course selection. Grade 10 students are provided with a presentation helping to explain the results, as well as contacting their college counseling contact with further questions. Students who started after Morrisby was completed with their grade level, can contact College Counseling to complete the survey.
