Service leadership is one of the six TASIS England mission values, and one that is celebrated and fostered throughout our school. Within TASIS England's Boarding, the Rise Programme seeks to educate students in the academic principles of service leadership whilst giving them opportunities to apply them in day school and boarding.
In each boarding house, students apply to become House Leaders through their House Parents. House Leaders are then elected to represent their house in the Rise program. Rise is divided into four committees representing areas of interest to the students: Food Committee, Well-being Committee, Student Voice Committee, and Events Committee. All House Leaders elect a President, Vice President, and Secretary to lead meetings. These committees then work at a grassroots level to implement initiatives responding to the boarders in their respective houses.
The principle of democratic representation amongst students has been proven to integrate and foster a sense of community. By ensuring that students are a part of the decision-making process, students feel heard and understood. By engaging students, we improve the student experience and ensure that all students enjoy their time at TASIS England and make lasting memories.
