Past Tense - Regular Verbs

Do you understand the Past Simple Tense and when to use it? Do you under -stand Regular Verbs vs. Irregular Verbs? How about pronunciation and how to make positive, negative, and interrogative (questions) statements?

This video will help you learn about these things, but it is longer than most. Please watch it 2 times. Two times for two days. I would like you to:

1st) WATCH and LISTEN only!! Do not stop the video to write. Do not use 'cc'. Try to focus on your LISTENING skills.

2nd) WATCH the video again. This time, stop it and write down notes to help you remember and study it. Write down the verbs she used, the rules for spelling regular verbs, making positive, negative and question statements, the pronunciation of -ed, and anything else to help you remember. When the teacher practices with sentences, stop the video and write down your answers. When she does pronunciation, repeat the word with the -ed sound. We will study irregular verbs next week.

On a 3rd day, watch and listen again. Then answer these questions.

Copy the chart below in your notebook,

Now WATCH and LISTEN to the video below. Do not write. Next, LISTEN to the pronunciation of the words. What sound does the -ed make in the past tense? WRITE all the regular verbs that make a 'd' sound in that column. Do the same with 't' and 'id'. I have done the first 3 words for you.
