Earthquakes

We have been having a lot of natural disasters occurring, many are weather related. Can you think of any you have heard about in America? Bad wildfires, some caused by lightning strikes, hurricanes, etc. I know hurricanes are called monsoons or typhoons in some people's countries. Lots of heavy rain AND wind!! This may be new vocabulary for you. Write them down.

Earthquakes and Earthquake safety

What is an earthquake? It is when the ground shakes back and forth. Sometimes the ground opens up. Usually after an earthquake, there is some damage. Do you know what to do IF there is an earthquake? Are you prepared?

WATCH these videos about what to do in an earthquake. Watch them 2 or 3 times. First, watch and listen only. Do it again. These videos talk about California, but everything is true for whatever state has an earthquake. Video #1 is what to do in an earthquake, and video #2 is what to do after an earthquake. Be Prepared.
