Plans

Daily Planning

Establish a study schedule for each day of the week (including weekends). This schedule should include family life, work commitments, meal times, sporting interests, recreational activities (TV) and social time. There must be appropriate time for homework / study / assignments. Once you have organised your study time you must keep to it. This is the only way study will become a habit – and good study habits make a student’s life effective.

Long Term Planning at a Glance

Long term planning could mean what you intend to do in a week’s time to what you intend to do with the rest of your life! Many people fail tests or exams because they start their revision too late rather than because they lack ability.

Advantages to long term planning and timetabling

  1. At-a-glance timing for every activity

  2. Busy periods show up clearly

  3. Lead-in time to deadlines can be shown by a long arrow

  4. Time limits for tasks can be set and adhered to

There are 35 – 40 working weeks in a typical school year. Use this as a guide for your rough timetable. Fill in tasks as they are given.
