Planning for Final
Finished Painting
For this piece, I chose oil paint because of its rich texture and ability to create deep, vibrant colors. I wanted to capture the smooth, reflective quality of the glass bottle while blending the background seamlessly.
I was inspired by (artist’s name), who uses a similar art style in their work. Their ability to create bold yet soft compositions influenced my approach to color and shading. I also incorporated personal symbols into the painting: the "Cherry Wine" label is inspired by my favorite song by Hozier, "1975" represents the year my mom was born, and "Italy" is my favorite place I’ve visited. The background colors reflect my favorite shades, making the painting more personal.
One of the strongest aspects of this painting is the realistic rendering of the bottle, particularly the way light and shadow interact on the glass. The warm and cool tones in the background help create contrast while keeping the composition visually interesting.
However, one area I could improve is refining the text on the label to make it cleaner and more legible.
