Frog Pot

Artist Statement: These two pinch-made pieces are supposed to show unity, and I think they do that pretty well. The mouth and the eyes are the parts where these are similar, Both of these were made using 2 pinch pots and putting them together, the Monster Bank was the first one I did and I didn't do a good job making the pinch pots and attaching them together. On the second one, the Frog Pot I had a better idea of how to make the pinch pots similar and I think I did a better job at making them flush together and look better. At first, I wasn't sure about what I would label these as, but a friend brought up that they thought the pot looked like a frog, and I agreed with that, but I still didn't I know what I was supposed to call the other one, I thought when I put the opening on it that I could make it a piggy bank, and the reason I didn't want to name it as a frog was that I thought the mouth is what made it look like a frog and the other one didn't have that. So I decided on it being monster.

Multiple Pinch Pots

Artist Statement: When I thought of the project of multiple pinch pots I immediately thought of a general shape, the turtle. So I knew that I wanted to make a turtle, I thought I could use a big pinch pot for the shell, and smaller ones for the head and the feet. and that's what I did, something I would change about it if I did it again is the size of the head on my turtle, I made it way too big. I should have added a small neck and smaller head, I guess my turtle is more of a tortoise. I think I did a good job at blending the feet into the shell using more clay and the metal scraping tool. I tried to make them flush with the shell but wider at the bottom and blend into the shell. I didn't know what to do with the face because the head was so large, so I made a smiling turtle if I did it again I would definitely change the head, but I think I made the feet to shell parts look really good.
