For this project we had to draw a picture of a corner of a room, a self portrait and a drawing of a still object, I drew a corner of the art room and a garbage can for the still object.
Artist Statement
The subjects/settings of my creations for the time capsule drawings are a corner in the art room, a self portrait of myself and a garbage can. I used pencil for all of the drawing, and I looked into a mirror for the self portrait. I chose to draw the garbage can and the corner of the room because they were the closest things to me. I used cross hatching to shade in the garbage can.
My artwork changed when I was drawing the self portrait, and I realized I made my head way too small, and I had to start over on the other side of the paper.
My drawings don’t have any meaning or story. The self portrait relates to my life, because it’s a drawing of me. My artwork could be improved because some of the drawings are very smudged, I drew too small on some of the projects, and they aren’t very good. I would take more time on them and be careful to not smudge them in the future.
