Artist Statement

I made a painting of a collage I made out of magazine cuttings. I used a lizard sitting on a log as the foreground and midground, and the background was a mountain. I used an H pencil to sketch the outlines, and I mixed acrylic paints for the painting.

At first I was going to do a different mountain with a village at the bottom, but I changed my mind because the town would have been really hard to paint with all of the little lights and other details.

I think one way the project could be improved is if I hadn’t rushed to meet the deadline and put more detail into the painting.
