Oil Pastel Color Study

Artist Statement

I drew a pixelated drawing of a cove at sunset. I used oil pastels and blended the colors together to get one smooth individual color per square. I used the grid method to make small even squares.

My project evolved because at first I wasn’t taking much time to make sure the colors were different, in the middle I took my time and did better at blending and making different colors. Towards the end I just tried to rush and be over with it, so some of the colors look the same.

I think my artwork could’ve been better if I had put more time, care and effort into making all of the squares unique colors and smoothing out the colors.
