Self-Portrait:

I attempted to make a decent drawing of my own face in a shorter period of time, so I have to say it was harder to capture much good detail. All in all, it was definitely not that great of an art piece, but at least you can tell that it somewhat resembles my face.

For this, I used two simple materials, a tilted stand-up mirror for seeing my own face, and a graphite mechanical pencil to actually draw my piece.

I have to admit, I struggled a lot with this artwork. I tried hard, but I have never been good at self-portraits. The mirror was fine, and I could clearly see myself in it and was trying to accurately copy my face structure. I feel like I did decently on the artwork other than the eyes and the head. Although I did do some minor adjustments to the head shape. And I adjusted the eyes taking into account the aspects like - the size of the pupil, and how wide and tall the eyes were.  I tried to be precise, but all in all, it turned out decent.

Soccer Lamp:

I chose this item because I felt like it was the perfect size for a short and simple piece of artwork. I also found that it had many details, that were semi-difficult to draw but weren't way over the top challenging. It also happened to be close to where I was drawing. And plus I also wanted to show the perspective I could draw with the lamp.

In this drawing I only used a new graphite mechanical pencil I got, and nothing else.

I just continued looking the lamp up and down while drawing each part of it, to capture specific details. And I think this worked very successfully!

The Corner of my Room:

I needed to choose a corner of my room to draw for the assignment. I chose this corner because I felt that I could make a more simple, but also more detailed perspective than the other corners. I felt that the shadow of the bedpost really helped advance the perspective even more. And since there was only part of a bed in that corner, I thought it would be more of an opportunity for the viewer to focus more on the placement and perspective of the bed, more than the bed itself.

I used the new graphite mechanical pencil that I got.

For this drawing, I made sure to get every little detail possible. I felt like I portrayed the perspective of the room corner very well. I also drew the shaded darker part next to the post to make it more realistic. Since I saw the light of the room cast a shadow on it, I decided to add it in. The bed was really the last part of the drawing. I had already covered perspective, and lighting, which were the criteria for the assignment. But since I knew that I worked really hard, and I had myself the beginning of a really good piece, I decided to also put a lot of detail into the bead as well. I can honestly say that this is one of my best and favorite drawings that I have made.
