Clay Transfer

My main idea going into this project was to create some type of box that I could store stuff in and use at home. I didn't just want to make something that I was going to throw away when the year ended I wanted something I could use. So I had to brainstorm something to build, I originally thought of a house but then decided against that because so many people do that, so I somehow landed on a dice.

My materials were a black glaze for the transfer, the paper that was used as the transfer agent, and slip and clay for my dice.

My process started with rolling out my slabs of clay with the machine ms smith taught us how to use, cutting them all to shape, and slipping and scoring them all together into a box. Next to draw my dice patterns on my transfer paper, and paint over them. Then the final step of slipping the base of my box, the face of the paper, and spooning the paper onto my box. Creating my dice ready to be fired.
