Skate Toon

Materials: Adobe photoshop photo of half-pipe for background inspiration, cartoon skater inspiration.

Ideas: Ideas: I liked the idea of creating a cartoon, but making him a skater which is adding my own twist.

Artist Statement: The Main idea for this slide was to do a skateboarder cartoon. The background was decided later in the project when I needed one to use. So I decided to go back to some of skateboarding's original roots, vert skating. So I found a picture of a vert ramp and drew that behind him, propped up the skateboard on the ramp, and called it good.

I used adobe photoshop and reference photos of a ramp and other skateboard cartoons to do this project. I liked the idea of a cartoon so that's what I decided on.

My process was deciding what the skater should be doing, should he be holding the board, riding it, or something else. I went with something else, I leaned the board up against the halfpipe. That idea also came to me while thinking about what to do with the skateboard
