Cubism Cross
9" x 11" drawing paper
Colored pencils, pencil
The main idea that guided my work with this specific project was that I wanted to use Piet Mondrian's style of cubism while still keeping the religious setting of my drawing.
This artwork was made by me first planning out how I would execute this drawing, then adjusting along the way. first made a the outline of the cross trying my best to keep it semetrical. after doing this I then planned where my cubes and borders would be and shaded the rectangles and borders in as I went.
For this piece of art I did do a good amount of research to find two artist that I felt I could combine their ideas together to make mine own art. This also took some experimentation as I didn't use my original idea in the final copy.
