Allison Shaver has been teaching at Plymouth South High School in Plymouth, MA since 2001. She began as a history teacher, but was asked to start the AP Psychology program in 2010 and has been hooked ever since. As her passion for psychology began to grow, she found herself presenting at national conferences, serving on the Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools (TOPSS) Committee through the American Psychological Association, and holding many different roles through the College Board.
In 2022, she received the APA TOPSS Charles T. Blair-Broeker Excellence in Teaching Award and in 2025 she was a recipient of an Inspiration Award in her district of over 800 educators. Allison has been reading AP Psychology Exams since 2014 and has served as a Reader, Table Leader and Early Table Leader. Each of these roles have allowed her to understand the AP Psychology Exam at a more in depth level. She recorded AP Daily Videos for the new CED in 2023 and has been on the AP Psychology Test Development Committee since 2023 In July of 2026, she will become the High School Co-Chair of the Test Development Committee. When not thinking about psychology, Allison loves to travel to New York City (and other places), read and watch reality TV.
