Please note: Each day, your class will have a forty-five minute lunch break, along with staggered comfort breaks

What to Expect

We are excited you will be learning with us this summer! Participants travel from across the country and internationally to attend the Midwest Premier APSI. Our goal is to offer a meaningful and educational experience that will take  your AP classes to the next level!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

• A re-fillable water bottle. There are water bottle refilling stations around the high school. There will be a coffee bar in the morning and limited bottle water available. We do not provide soda/pop, but you are welcome to bring your own to enjoy with your lunch! 

• A charged device with a charger. Many instructors share information digitally and have you access AP Classroom.

• Any safety equipment, pre-readings or classroom materials asked for by consultants. Be sure to read the session description page and any communications from your consultant. This site will be updated as new information becomes available.

• Dress comfortably and in layers! Some rooms are hot, some are cold, and some are just right.  

• A well-rested mind ready to absorb a large amount of information, in a short amount of time. Be prepared for an intense learning experience!

DURING THE APSI

• Registration begins at 7:15am on Monday, July 13th in the main commons at Olathe West High School. Locate the table with your subject, check-in and volunteers will be stationed around the hallways to help you find your classroom. After the first day, you can proceed directly to your classroom. 

• The sessions begin promptly at 8:00am and end at 4:30pm (3:300pm on Thursday). Attendance will be monitored, and only those completing the 30 hours required by the College Board will receive a completition certificate. Please let us know of any extenuating circumstances that will prevent you from attending the APSI in full. Districts will be notified of any "no shows."

• Each morning, a complimentary coffee bar by Hermetheus Coffee will be available for participants. Please bring a re-fillable water bottle. Refilling stations are available around the high school. Soda/Pop will not be provided, however, you are welcome to bring your own to enjoy!

• Lunch will be provided each day. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options will be availble for those who indicate a preference on the registration form. The lunch break will be 45-minutes, staggered from 11:30am - 12:30pm. 

• Light snacks will be provided in the morning.

AFTER THE APSI

• Completion certificates will be emailed within 14 days to participants completing the 30 hours and no outstanding payment.

• You will receive a survey from College Board towards the end of the APSI. Please complete it so that we can have feedback on our consultants and our event. We welcome constructive  criticism!
