The task for this project was to create a model of the solar system that accurately displays size or distance. In model 4, we looked for a pattern between the planets that could be used to create a formula that predicts the Orbital Velocity of different planets. We then used the formula to predict the orbital velocity of an unknown planet based on its distance from the sun and the force of gravity it has on the sun.
For Model 5, we shared our findings with the class and chose three other patterns that made sense to us and made a diagram that shows how they work. We also made calculations to find the time it would take for two unknown planets to make a full orbit around the sun. On the same paper, we calculated how much we would weigh on those two planets based on its gravitational force and size.
