For our Hypo kinetic Disease poster project my group and I picked Atherosclerosis disease. A disease were the thickening of the arteries caused by a buildup of plaque. To construct this poster my group divided the work evenly. One would look up the information and type it out while two write down the information, and our last person would outline the pencil.ed in words with different color sharpie so it would stand out more and organize our information.
Though we did go pass some bumps in the road we overcame it easily. For example, when we finished writing out the information we had to move on to our three drawings and we noticed from research that there wasn't many different options to showcase Atherosclerosis. While scrolling down we realized that we could show the disease in heart, a label example, and how it runs through the blood traveling to your heart.
Atherosclerosis is an experience of chest pain and cramping of pain throughout your legs, arms, and the glutenous. If it is not looked at it will negativity impact your life; when the plague becomes too much it will leave a blood clot that can block the artery. This will cause stroke, limb loss, heart attacks and or circulation. It will make an impact on cardio respiratory endurance. This related to physics in STEM because as the blood flows through the veins and as the plague starts to build up in the tubes the mass and length of the plague takes up space from blood to flow and when it becomes too much the pressure builds up and when the force releases it cause stroke, limb loss etc.
Reflection: During this project I learned that I work well with quiet and cooperative group. People who listen to everyone and don't like arguing and like to resolve the problem is a inside voice way. I earn the skill of being able to be more comfortable with new people and as a person who struggles with taking the leader role I felt as if I level up and began guide and lead our team when it was needed. What I could have done better was making the work as close to even as possible instead of doing the work that others didn't want too, because as we grow we need to learn to adapt and do things that we don't want to do to get better at them and have experience. Eventually I notice that my communication could have been more present. Though I am still learning to share my voice I could have most definitely push myself out there more. Overall, It was a great project to learn about Hypo Kinetic Disease and to make new friends with classmates, it was a stress-free environment and experience.
