MOECS

The Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS) is the platform used by the Michigan Department of Education to track teacher certification and renewal.

For any professional learning completed after July 1, 2020, providers must upload hours as SCECHs (State Continuing Education Clock Hours). The GRPS Professional Learning Office submits these uploads monthly.

To ensure your course is eligible for SCECH credit:

• It must be marked as “Taken” in KALPA.

• It must be tagged with the blue SCECH box in the course listing.

• All required surveys in KALPA must be completed prior to that month’s upload.
  
  

For questions about your attendance, please contact the facilitator of the professional learning session. If you notice a course in your plan that you believe qualifies for SCECHs but is missing the tag, contact the Professional Learning Office at pd@grps.org.

Once a course is uploaded to MOECS, you must complete a follow-up survey within MOECS in order for the hours to count toward your certification renewal.
