Induction Program Mentor Selection
The following criteria has been developed as guidelines for administrators to choose mentors to serve as support for new GREA staff and has been aligned to Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Instructional Specialists. Please use this information to support the selection process. Criteria is intended for the mentor selection and should not be used for evaluation purposes.
Requirements for all mentors. All mentors MUST:
have earned at least an effective rating on the previous three years' evaluations
have at least four years of teaching experience
agree to attend mentor professional learning sessions in order to be paid a stipend, per the GREA contract
Recommended for all mentors. Mentors should:
be in roles similar to their mentee (same school, grade level, content area, scholar populations, etc.)
demonstrate strengths in the following areas:
