The fundamental responsibilities of the mentor is to support the mentee to become acclimated to Grand Rapids Public Schools and to grow professionally. The purpose of the mentor assignment is to provide the mentee with a peer who can offer assistance, resources, and information in a non-threatening and collegial fashion.The focus of each mentor/mentee interaction must be based on one of the four domains of Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching: Planning and Preparation, The Classroom Environment, Instruction, and/or Professional Responsibilities.
