SAP

The Student Assistance Program's (SAP) purpose is to identify students who are experiencing behavior and/or academic difficulties which pose a barrier to their success in school. SAP offers support to those students and their families. The support may be offered in the form of educational support groups, in-school monitoring and aftercare services. If the student's difficulties lie beyond the scope of the school, the team may assist the family in identifying options for professional support. Participation in the Student Assistance Program is voluntary.

Referral Process

Students may be referred to SAP by teachers, parents, students and other concerned individuals. In most cases, after a student is referred, behavioral information forms are sent to the student's teachers. The completed forms are then reviewed by the team members. The family is contacted, usually by phone, and information, observations, student strengths and common concerns are shared.

Referral forms are available in the guidance office.  Stop in or call/email Mrs. McCann and she will supply a referral form to you.
