ACT Testing
The ACT is a college entrance exam similar to the SAT. College bound students should test in the spring of their junior year and/or as a senior. This exam tests in the areas of English, mathematics, reading and science with an optional writing test. Students register at www.act.org. The cost is $69 or $94 with writing.
The ACT is not offered at Franklin High School.
PSAT Testing
October 21, 2025
Periods 1-5
The PSAT will be offered at Franklin High School on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. All juniors who are planning to attend a four-year college after high school should plan to take this test. The PSAT is designed to give students a chance to practice for the SAT. The test results will be returned to students in December, along with their test booklet and correct answers. Students can benefit from reviewing their test results to learn which areas they need to work on before taking the SAT in the spring.
The cost has been waived. Registration will be held from September 08 - September 19. Students register in the guidance office.
SAT Testing
The SAT is also a college entrance exam that tests students in math and critical reading. The cost is $68. Students need to register for this exam through the College Board at www.satsuite.collegeboard.org.
The SAT will be offered at Franklin High School in March and June.
