Students at Clarence High School have been using their phones during the day for years. Going from being able to text your friends whenever you need to not even being able to check the time has been a big adjustment for many. With the school year starting just a few weeks ago, things have been very different from past years. This law was just recently established in New York State, beginning this school year of 2025-2026. It applies to all schools K-12, and it is known as the “Distraction-Free Schools” / “Bell-to-Bell” law.

The Clarence boys JV-A soccer team is off to an incredible start this season, with victories against both Lancaster and St. Joes, each ending in a 2-1 score. Beating these difficult teams has set the tone for this Clarence team, helping them continue the season with a 7-0 lead, making them the #1 in their division so far this season.

The Clarence girls' varsity soccer team kicked off their season with a 5-1 record. Facing many tough opponents in the first few weeks of their season, the girls have shown how tough and resilient they can be.
Clarence’s two volleyball teams have had good starts to the season thus far, with the boys varsity team looking electric on the court.
The start of fall sports is in motion, and the Clarence varsity girls' swimming and diving team is ready for another great season. After losing 10 seniors, the 20-person roster wonders who will lead the team in scoring.

On September 10 at Utah Valley University, Charlie Kirk was murdered. Charlie Kirk was a right-wing political activist who made it his mission to debate people with opposing views, specifically college students. Kirk challenged college students in order to get them thinking logically. After 33 hours of investigative search, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the alleged murderer, was pinned with Kirk’s death.

Fall is known for many things: pumpkin spice, falling leaves, and the iconic Gilmore Girls. The show premiered on October 15, 2000, and has only grown since then. The thousands of followers have shown their pride through everything from TikTok sounds to t-shirts. In 25 years, the Gilmore girls have created a legacy of endless coffee and chaos.
Just this year the Broadway hit musical, Hamilton, just celebrated its 10-year anniversary. Many of you have seen this musical, used the trends on TikTok and Youtube, or at least heard of it. This musical explains the amazing, and quite busy life of Alexander Hamilton.
In a day and age where media consumes our everyday lives, TV shows and movies that display characters with real emotions that reflect our own emotions become more and more desired.A great example of a television series that has characters a broad spectrum of people can connect with is The Summer I Turned Pretty. A series that has been all the rage this summer, its final episode releasing just last Wednesday, September 17th, The Summer I Turned Pretty is a show with flawed characters who eventually learn to find themselves. And who doesn’t want that?

Following a summer with new hit movies, the rest of this year has the shoes of giants to fill. Most anticipated this fall season is Wicked: For Good, directed by Jon M Chu, the second part of the recreation of the already famous musical, fans stuck clinging to the cliffhanger of Cynthia Erivo’s famous riff. This and so many more amazing films coming this season, so catch them in theaters!
