Borneo Culture Museum
The museum is right in the heart of Kuching city, near Padang Merdeka. It's a five-story building that looks super modern and cool, showing off Sarawak's special crafts and cultural history.The Borneo Cultures Museum consists of five levels and each floor has a different theme. Each theme tells stories about the Borneo people and their cultural and historical heritage.
The second floor is all about loving our rivers, the third floor is about being in harmony with nature, the fourth-floor talks about how time changes, and the fifth floor has a gallery called 'Objects of Desire.' All those levels provide a complete exploration of how Borneo people live through the ages.
Cat Statue
Kuching is also known as the cat city, and you can see why when you spot the many cat statues around the city. The word “kuching” means “cat” in Malay, and the locals love their feline friends. You can find cat statues of various shapes, sizes, and colors, depicting different breeds and poses. Some of the most famous ones are the Great Cat of Kuching, the Family of Cats, and the Cats Monument. The cat statues are free to visit and are scattered around the city, especially near the waterfront, the old town, and the roundabouts.
Kuching Waterfront
Kuching Waterfront, spread across 900 metres along the southern bank of Sarawak River, is the most iconic place in Kuching. The Kuching waterfront is a scenic promenade along the Sarawak River, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, admire the views, watch the boats, and catch the sunset. The Kuching waterfront is open 24 hours a day and is free to visit. You can find it along Jalan Main Bazaar, in the heart of the city.
Kuching Cat Museum
One of the most unique attractions in Kuching is the cat museum, which is the world’s first museum dedicated to cats. The museum showcases over 4,000 items related to cats, such as statues, paintings, sculptures, artifacts, and memorabilia. You can learn about the history, culture, and legends of cats, as well as their roles in different societies and religions.
CHAGEE at Taman Sahabat
Chagee at Taman Sababat, Jalan Song, Kuching, is a haven for tea enthusiasts. With its elegant ambiance, picturesque lake view, and a range of exquisite China-chic tea offerings, it's a must-visit destination for anyone craving a refined and delightful tea experience.The park was to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two COUNTRIES which is China and Malaysia in 2005. Popular among locals as well as tourists, it is a good place to exercise or just relax. Of interest was the statue of Admiral Cheng Ho which provided a popular spot for photography for visitors.
