The park is located at the Tanjung Batu Recreational Area, at the end of Jalan Tun Razak. The park currently has about 60 species of animals and will continue to introduce more species in the future to enrich the park's animal species. There are 25 gardens at the zoo such as the orchid garden, owls, and butterfly garden that you can visit. In front of each park, there is a small board describing the flora and fauna of the park. So, you can learn something about the flora and fauna while visiting the zoo. The zoo is currently open to the public free of charge. So far, the zoo has attracted 159,632 visitors this year.
The Similajau National Park is 30km north of Bintulu. The park's total area was 70.64 kilometers. There are 24 species of mammals and 185 species of birds live in the park for example, sea eagles and blue mangrove crab. The park has a golden beach, two turtle beaches, plankwalk, education trail, circular trail, viewpoint trail and batu anchau trail. So, if you don’t want to get lost in the park, remember to take a picture of the map at the entrance. The good news for those who are too lazy to walk is that they also provide boat hire to the beaches so you can hire a boat to reach the beach faster. Furthermore, they also have a suspension bridge over the river Likau and you need to cross it if you want to reach the plank walk over the mangroves.
This is a Bintulu historic landmark. The oldest legislative and the biggest fully elected Assembly in Malaysia. It was built as a monument of the state’s first legislative meeting on September 8th, 1867, and has been marked as the beginning of a new era in Sarawak’s history.
Tanjung Batu Beach is the most popular beach in Bintulu. There are a lot of stalls that sell food and beverages such as ABC, cendol, chicken wing, coconut juice, etc. You can enjoy your meal while looking at the sea view. Furthermore, there are some game and activities you can join such as blowing bubbles, flying kites, cycling, and jogging. You can enjoy the sea breeze while jogging and bicycling there. If you want to have a picnic, this beach is the most suitable place because there are many pavilions, tables, chair and rubbish bins. So, you can have a picnic there and bring your food to BBQ at there.
A nice spot to have a leisurely walk. They are very suitable to watch the sunset and have a walk. This is because the area that is close and along coast is surrounded by fences, making it much safer than other beaches. The other reason there very suitable to walk is it would not be too hot because of the sea breeze that lead the temperature become suitable. In addition, there is a shopping mall beside it so after a walk you can have dinner inside the mall.
This little waterfall is 12.2km away from Bintulu. The waterfall is about two meters high. It takes half an hour to walk along the jungle trail to reach the waterfall inside the forest. While walking, you can appreciate the flora and fauna along the way such as hodweed. It’s very suitable for those who want to have a challenging track.
This place is 46.7km away from Bintulu. This is a floating temple that only kind of temple in Sarawak. The island is nestled in the middle of River Kemena so visitors only can get to the temple by boat. If you are a devotee or believe in the Natok Kong Temple, you can go into the temple and pray for blessings and make wishes.
