There are a number of campaigns you can chose for your comparisons. You can research your own if you prefer. For top marks in this AC you will probably need to compare four or five. You can select from the list below.
These campaigns want to change existing laws or create new laws.
Examples: Clare’s Law; Sarah’s Law; Harper’s Law
Assisted dying Bill - currently going through the House of Lords
These campaigns want to change the plans and actions of the government; government agencies (e.g. the Police, the NHS) and also public policies.
Examples: UNLOCK; Bobby Turnbull
An ‘agency’ is part of the government, or a private company, that provides a public service. E.g. the NHS, Police, courts, victim support etc.
Groups campaign to raise more money for a cause, either from public donations or government funding.
These campaigns are trying to change the public’s awareness of a crime. They may be trying to encourage the public to prevent certain crimes (e.g. by being more vigilant against it) or could be encouraging more victims/witnesses to come forward and report a crime.
These campaigns are trying to change the way the public thinks and the attitudes they have. Changing people’s attitudes (e.g. more tolerance towards black people or other minority groups) can reduce the amount of crime.
