May 2016 & January 2017
Brigid came to talk with our students about trash and recycling. She showed up in her Halloween Costume- "RecycQueen"- a completely recycled costume. She shared a presentation that highlighted the impact trash can have on our neighborhoods and communities. She then was able to share ideas on how the students can help their neighborhoods and communities.
Students across all grade levels regularly collect trash in Patterson Park and the surrounding areas.
All classrooms have a recycling bins and recycling is taken out nightly. The Green Team sent out a survey at the beginning of the year and then held a fundraiser (selling candy grams on Valentine's Day) to purchase recycling bins for any classrooms that did not have one.
We also send out tips and reminders to encourage recycling and encourage sustainable use of paper products.
PPPCS distributes newsletters and other information directed to our families electronically by request. Printed versions are always double-sided and given only to the youngest student in each family.
