Energy Audits

Students conducted energy audits for classrooms for each floor. You can see those here: ENERGY AUDITS . Based on the energy audits, students created an action plan to improve our energy conservation. This plan included:

• Creating door hangers reminding students and teachers to turn off lights.
• Conducting heat and AC thermostat checks to ensure that the thermostats were set at optimal temperatures for Energy Conservation.

We held contests for Energy Conservation. Classrooms that had their thermostats at optimal temperatures each week were entered into a raffle each week. This proved to be very successful as our energy bill was significantly lower this year.

Zoo Field Trip- Climate Change

The Green Team visited the Baltimore Zoo to participate in their climate change program. They learned how changes in climate are affecting animal habitats. They completed a food web activity and also played a game showing the affects of climate change on different species. Of course, we then visited the rest of the zoo animals. It was a great day!
