For our school-wide service day, 4th graders partnered with 2nd graders to share our knowledge of water conservation & pollution. We met together and prepared presentation to share with the four classes. We broke into small groups to teach a 30 minute lesson. We also encouraged the students to support the creation of the new Trash Wheel in Canton and shared with them what we learned about Mr. Trash Wheel. You can see their presentation here.
Students on the Green Team researched tips for water conservation and created posters to post in our bathrooms and near water fountains at school.
Here at PPPCS, we also have rain barrels that were created in collaboration with Audubon. We maintain them and the Garden Club uses the water to water the gardens on site.
The Green Team worked hard to raise money for the creation of the Canton Trash Wheel. Through a variety of fundraising, we were able to raise $500.00. Representatives from the Waterfront Partnership came out to teach us even more about the Trash Wheel and how to keep the bay healthy.
Some of our fundraising activities included selling Candy-Grams and selling reindeer ornaments.
