Did you meet all of the requirements of the brief?
I believe I've done everything I needed to do for this unit. I followed each tasks' objective diligently and made sure to be meticulous.
I'm quite proud of my work, both the portfolio and other written work, as well as how I set it out on my Google Site.
I provided evidence, timetables, and storyboards of my progress and final portfolio. My portfolio consisted of progress shots of my work, various other illustrations, and brief descriptions to follow my art and about me in general.
What specific parameters did you set for yourself and did you achieve them?
The timetable was probably the most prominent example of a plan or rules I set for myself and followed to the T. I made sure to spread out the days to not give me an immense workload over the holidays and that I had time for Christmas and New Years celebrations too.
I wanted my work to be jam-packed with information, links, and examples like the portfolios I researched, which I think was completed successfully and I carried this work ethic throughout the entire unit. This was relevant in my previous tasks as I talked about the certain aspects and requirements of the portfolios I researched.
How effective was the portfolio in responding to the interactive elements?
I deem that my portfolio does well on interactive elements as I've added links, buttons, and image carousel.
If I was able to, though, I'd like to have added animations that react to your cursor when clicked on or hovered over, but I'm not quite there yet both in terms of skill and technical knowledge!
The previous portfolios I discussed earlier in the unit were an immense help, and I also used a friend's portfolio as an example.
What would you do differently next time?
As I mentioned before, using more intricate animations would've been both impressive and impressionable to the viewer.
Maybe in the future, when I honed my skills further, I can create something truly exceptional and use a site maker that's more built for portfolios and personal web addresses.
I'd also like to add more references later on to work experience and collaborations, which I hope will happen in the coming years.
What skills and techniques have you developed this unit?
I've learned new aspects of Google Sites- such as the image carousel, buttons, collapsible groups, and dividers, as well as a further understanding of the staples and requirements of an interactive portfolio.
The task of researching your own portfolios and diving into their aesthetics, achievements, and overall site layout also helped me grasp the unlimited potential a portfolio can include, from 3D modelling to graphic design.
Looking at the variety of portfolios has inspired me, and I'm more than willing- and have done with my own portfolio- to take this determination and channel it into my own work.
