I'd like to create a comic cover or promotional illustration that depicts the main character(s) I'll be focusing on.
I want it to be colorful and dynamic to draw the viewer in and develop an audience.
I've decided to go with Sampo Koski, so I'll possibly create a chase scene or him in the midst of a heist with fluorescent and bright lights. He'll be the main focus and portrayed as a villain- orchestrating grand heists and pulling pranks on anyone and everyone.
Snappy, lively, colorful, spirited. These are all adjectives I want my final piece to be described with.
I want viewers to dart their eyes all across the illustration, soaking in the details burrowed within every nook and cranny.
The experience should stick to the recipient and my enthusiastic charisma for the prequel soaks through the screen.
I wanted Sampo's younger self to be quick, slick, and fluid. His design should consist of feather-light silhouettes that are made out of bells, swirls, and exterior flaps that follow the main body.
My ideas were to create a shady-looking showman with aspects of a jester's outfit. I like the one to the very right or the bottom second. I'll most likely accentuate his shoulders with a wide silhouette constructed by his upper sleeves.
I want him to don stringy attributes, frills, and several patterns consisting of diamonds and lines. I might make it black and white to mimic action/cop shows from the 60s.
I briefly designed Sampo's outfit. I wanted to bring attention to his head and mask, as it's important for a Masked Fool (after all, why would it be called that if it isn't?)
I began playing around with bows, checkers, and circular attributes, such as the safety pins decorating his collarbone and the various strings splurging from his ensemble.
