Each November the Ardrey Kell MCJROTC Battalion celebrates the birth of the Marine Corps (November 10th, 1775). During the event, a cake cutting ceremony is held where a slice of cake is cut and passed down (from the guest speaker, to the oldest cadet, and then the youngest); symbolizing the knowledge that is passed down through generations. A guest speaker is present in the ceremony and shares a speech. A cadet also reads the Commandant's birthday message & the Marine Corps Order 47. After the ceremony, cadets enjoy a catered dinner and dance for the rest of the night.Â
