Long Response:

A. Summarize what you read?

On Tuesday, 50 Palestinians were killed and 150 wounded, after Israeli air strikes hit a refugee camp in North Gaza. Israeli ground forces fought Hamas gunmen in a tunnel network. North Gaza cleared out as many citizens to stop further damage.

B. Explain in your own words what you know about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict (feel free to bring in additional information you didn't get in this story, if you have it).

Israeli wants a two-state solution as they want a state of their own and security. Hamas rejected this idea, thus leading to their conflict. They are overall fighting over territory.

C. Explain what is happening in Gaza to the civilians living there, based on what you read from the article.

Civilians are being faced with food, fuel, drinkable water, and medicine shortages. They are also struggling with casualties being surrounded by war.

D. When two opposing groups go to war, and send in their troops (whether they are officially trained military members or loose groups of men/women fighting together or something in-between), how can we best serve those in the middle who have nothing to do with the war itself (the civilians)?

We can evacuate the many that are harmed by these wars. Also supply them with as much supplies necessary while fighting is occurring. As they cant up and go to the grocery store. Providing tools for the innocent civilians in the middle is a must.

E. What should the US do in response to this war, in your opinion?

I think they would stay out of the war. As hard as it is to sit and watch, I don't think we need to involve ourself and end up in a battle we don't want. The fighting is unnecessary and overall would cause for fuel to the fire.

F. Compare your thoughts on this war, versus the war in the Ukraine?

The war in Ukraine has been been an issue longer than this war. Both equally deserve safety, but I think Ukrainian people really need help; as they have dealt with this for so long. I think the military should still fight if they believe in their cause, but leave the civilians out of it because they are innocent. Either providing them with more supplies and safe shelters or taking them out of the situation completely. These aren't easy tasks, but it needs to be done if they want to keep people safe.
