Well done to the children and parents in these classes!
Dear Parents/Carers,
It's been a wonderful week at St. Josephs as Assessment Week has continued.
The children in Y1 began their phonics tests and they have done so well is showing how much progress they have made! We are really impressed by them all!
Kimya and Uche focused really hard to show how much their brains have grown- well done!
The Y4 children spent the well completing their multiplication checks. A large number of children achieved full marks! Well done to the children and the whole team.
Happy Portuguese Day to all our families with Portuguese heritage! We hope you had a wonderful day celebrating. It was an honour to be invited by General Council Manuel to celebrate at the Portuguese Embassy in Belgravia on Wednesday. Miss Arthur and I were in attendance and it was wonderful to learn of our countries' shared history.
Our Annual Colour Run, has extended this year. We will be have a summer fair and celebratory picnic too! The tickets went on sale today and are available here. Friends and family welcome.
If you would like to support the school by having a sign about the fair please complete the following form. For every board the agency can put up the school receives up to £15. With the support of our school community this can quickly add up to thousands of pounds, providing a huge benefit to our school community.
Sadly, Mrs Daniels' Dad passed away last week. We pray that he rests in peace and that Mrs Daniels and her family gain strength and comfort from the memories they shared. We are praying for them all at this time.
I hope you and your family have a lovely weekend.
Happy Father's Day to all our Dad's, uncle, grandads and men in our school community!

Reception visited Fr. James at Virgo Fidelis Church. He gave us a tour and told us all about God’s house and how things are used. We had a tick sheet to find religious artefacts within the church and Fr. James explained their purpose. We looked at the stained glass windows which told us stories about Mary and Jesus. We learnt the reasons why church is important to so many of us and what Jesus and the cross mean. It was a wonderful experience!
This week has been a big one for Year 2 student as they've tackled their SATs papers. We're bursting with pride at their dedication and the fantastic results they've achieved. But it wasn't all work and no play! For a well-rounded experience, they also participated in Sky Arts lessons. They danced with Darcey Bustle, explored costume design inspired by the Wicked film, honed their drawing skills with a comic artist, and even learned to sing from Fleur East. What a week!
This week has been filled with assessments and completing the Y4 Multiplication Tables Check. The children have worked hard and done their very best. We have also been enjoying a week of Design and Technology, investigating how torches work and designing our own, using our knowledge of electrical circuits - which we covered in science earlier in the year. We finished the week with a session of Futsal - be sure to ask the children what it actually is.
It’s been a busy and exciting time in PE recently! Two teams proudly represented St Joseph’s at the Margaret Roper Netball and Football tournaments – well done to all involved for their fantastic efforts. We also took part in the Catholic Swimming Gala, where Muna, Naomi, and Sahara swam brilliantly to secure 2nd place in the medley relay – congratulations! Our junior classes enjoyed a brilliant futsal experience day, which was a hit with all the children. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce that Sports Day will take place on Thursday 10th July, with the infants in the morning and juniors in the afternoon – we look forward to seeing you there
