This term in P7, our class topic is Japan and Natural Disasters. We have been learning all about Japanese culture and traditions, Japanese home life, school life and advancements in technology. We are learning how and why natural disasters happen in Japan and the impact they have on people's lives. Last week we did a class assembly in front of the whole school then in front of our family members.

In Literacy, we have been learning about persuasive writing using the PM writing programme. Now we have moved on to narrative writing. We are writing our own story books in the style of a Japanese traditional tale. In maths we have been learning about larger numbers, decimals and BIDMAS. For the past few Wednesdays we have been doing Bikeability in the school playground.

In P7 we have taken on a range of responsibilities. Twice each week, we work in small groups to visit P1 to P3 and support their learning as curriculum leaders. We help with their reading, phonics and maths work. Once a fortnight we work with our P1 buddies to support their learning in class.
