Primary 1 have had a great start to school and everyone has settled in really well. In literacy we have been developing our phonological awareness skills with the support of the P7 Curricular Leaders, learning our initial sounds and developing our fine motor skills through cutting, drawing and pencil control activities. In numeracy we have been learning to recognise, order, sequence and write numerals to 10 and count forward and back within 20. We have also been learning about patterns, 2D shape and 3D objects, the months of the year and days of the week. In outdoor learning we have been exploring pattern, shape and the changing seasons. As part of our context for learning - Our Community - we have been looking at maps of our community, learning about the different types of houses we live in and who the people are in our community that can help us.
