The Colorado Department of Transportation's (CDOT’s) process improvements efforts were often noted and quoted in a Regulatory Agencies publication entitled “Cutting Red Tape in Colorado State Government.” This publication is the third in a reporting series distributed under the administration of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.

Among the CDOT initiatives cited were the following:

two elements of cutting red tape strategy

CDOT Process Improvement Director Gary Vansuch said the highlighting of these various initiatives is an affirmation of what CDOT is doing.

“We’re working in so many areas of CDOT right now.  The programs highlighted in this publication are only a sample," he noted.  "I’m happy to say that at CDOT we’ve eliminated more than 46 pages of rules and no-value-added regulations over the past three years.  It’s great to be recognized for all the work our employees and others have put in on these projects.”
