Jainism traditionally known as Jain Dharma, is an ancient Indian religion. Jain dharma traces its spiritual ideas and history through a succession of twenty-four leaders or tirthankaras, with the first being Rishabhanatha or also known as Adinath bhagwan of this era, whom the Jain tradition holds to have lived millions of years ago, the twenty-third tirthankara Parshvanatha whom historians date to 8th or 7th century BCE, and the twenty-fourth tirthankara, Mahāvīra around 500 BCE. Jains believe that Jainism is an eternal dharma with the tirthankaras guiding every cycle of the Jain cosmology. The main religious premises of the Jain dharma are ahiṃsā (non-violence), anekāntavāda (many-sidedness), aparigraha (non-attachment) and asceticism (abstinence from sensual pleasures). Devout Jains take five main vows: ahiṃsā (non-violence), satya (truth), asteya (not stealing), brahmacharya (abstinence), and aparigraha (non-possessiveness). These principles have affected Jain culture in many ways, such as leading to a predominantly vegetarian lifestyle. Parasparopagraho Jīvānām (the function of souls is to help one another) is its motto and the Ṇamōkāra mantra is its most common and basic prayer. (www.wikipedia.org)

The film takes viewers down its glorious path, from the very first teachings of the Teerthankaras and Lord Mahavir to modern day Jains who are leading in every sphere of public life, while remaining true to the humanistic values of Jainism.
Jainism, some called it the world’s most peaceful religion. Its monks are famous worldwide for their strict adherence to non-violence. Their ancient philosophy has garnered the eye of the modern world as their ideas of non-violence, strict vegetarianism, and what could be called an environmentalist outlook are strikingly relevant. A South Indian Jaina Rathayātrā in Tulu Nadu: Jain Bramanical Priests and Brahminisation of Temple Rituals. -- a lecture by UC Berkeley Professor Padmanabh Jaini on Oct 26, 2013 at "The Study of Jainism," - a day long symposium organized in honor of his 90th birthday.
Professor Jain highlighted that Jainism has always enhanced man's relationship with the ecology by following its principles of non-violence and non-possession. The fact that way before Covid-19, Jain monks and nuns were wearing ‘Muhapatti’ (Mask) in order not to harm microbes invisible to the naked eye and reduce violence through a speech by talking less and listening more is just one example of that. Jains traditionally prefer taking up professions that do little or no harm to living beings and the environment at large. Instead of uprooting and killing the entire plant for consumption (Jameenkand/root vegetables), they prefer consuming the bi-product (fruits and vegetables). This has been their philosophy for everyday living. Further, he offers his humble opinion that the Dairy industry today, causes harm to the cow and offering flowers to god harm to plants hence alternate solutions like veganism and mindfulness could be a way to reduce violence. He also goes on to say that we must move with the times and bring the principles of Ahimsa, Aparigraha, and Anekantvad to current situations to make the world a better place to live in for all living beings.
