The Yaksha Prasna is the story of a riddle contest between Yudhishthira and a yaksha in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. It appears in the Vana Parva, and the story is set as the Pandavas end their twelve years of exile in the forest. While the five Pandavas lived their life in Exile as ordered by King Dhritarashtra after losing to a game of dice against the Kaurava Prince Duryodhana, a Brahman priest came by their hut asking their help to retrieve his holy Shami sticks that were carried away by a deer into the dense forest. As the five brothers stride in search of the deer they decide to quench their thirst from a river and are faced with Lord Yama's devious test. Shakuntala - This is the poignant love story of King Dushyanta and the beautiful Shakuntala. Shakuntala and Dusyanta met in the forest, fell in love and got married but soon the King had to return to his kingdom. Dushyanta left Shakuntala, who was pregnant at the time, with his ring as a symbol of his love. Immersed in thoughts of her husband, Shakuntala committed the grave misdeed of ignoring a visiting sage. The enraged sage cursed her, saying the her beloved would forget her until she produced a token of recognition. Shakuntala then went to Dushyanta's court, but sadly, he didn't recognize her and as she had lost the ring during her journey, she could not even prove her story. Much later, upon finding the missing ring in the belly of a fish, Dushyanta remembered his lost love and was eventually reunited with her through his son Bharata who he met in the forest.
