Mindful breathing jars, otherwise known as glitter jars or calming jars are a simple visual of how one can calm their mind. (great for anger, anxiety, stress)
When life gets overwhelming and a glitter jar can help you visualize as you breathe to slow down thoughts and reduce the stress. (clear your brain).
In a moment of overwhel or stress, just shake up the jar. Use mindful breathing (focus on your breath and sensations of breathing) as you watch the glitter swirl around in the jar and settle to the bottom.
The glitter is a visualization of the stress/anxious mind and how those thoughts settle as we pause and focus our breath, consciously putting away other thoughts, and focusing on the present moment.
Mindful breathing can:
Reduce stress and anxiety
Calm the mind, and
Promote clarity of thought
